If you use a router to connect to the Internet, try setting the DMZ to your local IP address. Also, set your VPN type to PPTP in the connection settings. If it still fails, it is likely your gateway or router does not support GRE or PPTP protocol. Try enabling NAT-T or replace your router. Alternatively, try a different network.
